到了老爺爺的家，一進門，一隻全身黑乎乎的八哥朝我們大叫“大家好!”。老爺爺、老奶奶都很熱情，老爺爺拿出了一副很大的象棋讓我們下，老奶奶拿出了兩大盆哈密瓜請我們吃。因爲我象棋下得不是很好，只好坐在沙發上邊吃哈密瓜，邊看那些男同學下。下了幾局棋之後，老爺爺帶我們去看他們家剛纔和我們打招呼的那隻八哥，我很感興趣，他給我們介紹：這隻八哥他養了十年，老奶奶教它說“去買菜喲!”，因此每天早上六點的時候，這隻八哥便會大叫“去買菜喲!”，老奶奶便會放下手中的活，提着籃子去買菜。我心想，這隻八哥被老爺爺他們養了十年，學了很多話，我也要試試看。於是我便蹲下來，對着八哥拍了拍手，八哥那雙芝麻大小的眼睛立刻圓溜溜地瞪着我，我對它說“你好”，它馬上回了我一句“你好，大家好”。我哈哈大笑起來。這時老爺爺又跟我們聊了聊象棋，又問了我們一些問題。一個小時很快就過去了，我們依依不捨地離開了老爺爺的家。
能夠利用暑假的一些時間去陪陪老爺爺、老奶奶，和他們聊聊天、說說話是很有意義的。
